Chicken Fingers

There are several different names for chicken fingers: chicken tenders, chicken strips etc. but they all represent the same thing...delicious, breaded, fried pieces of skinless and boneless chicken. Chicken fingers are a timeless, classic American meal that can be found on the menus of MANY restaurants across the globe. They are often served with a dipping sauce, my favorite is a honey mustard, and a variety of side dishes serve to perfectly complement the taste. These include: french fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries, and my favorite...mashed potatoes!

Mashed Potatoes

In my opinion, mashed potatoes are a perfect food; they are light, flavorful, and most importantly, delicious. They are made by boiling potatoes and then mashing them. In many recipes, the chef will add ingredients like garlic, spices, cheese, or butter. No matter which way they are prepared, they are sure to be tasty. I like to eat my mashed potatoes as a side dish, but there are several recipes like sherpard's pie and gnocchi, that include mashed potatoes as an ingredient.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn't love a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie? The answer is nobody! The chocolate chip cookie actually has an interesting history; they were accidentally baked by Ruth Wakefield in 1933. She owned the "Toll House Inn", hence the term "toll house cookies" (Wikipedia, 2010). Chocolate chip cookies can be baked with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Many people also enjoy them with nuts!
